Eight tracks sequenced as one single late night, from the moment the last chord of the final set dies out to the first grey light on the windows. The record breathes in two: intimate brushed swing tracks where the quartet plays almost unplugged (piano in ninths, walking upright, ride and brushes, sax saying only what matters), and jazz house tracks where the drummer's machine takes over and the harmony turns into stabs over a deep groove. Energy climbs from a slow opening head to two club peaks in the middle, then the chairs go up on the tables and the night ends alone at the piano. Nia appears twice, close to the mic: once at the peak, once at dawn.
